Flight Nursing

This career is definitely on the rise and a great choice for people who like to be on the go. If you thrive on the adrenaline rush of working in emergency, critical care situations, you may want to consider becoming a flight nurse.

Flight nurses are adept at assessing the condition of critically wounded or critically ill patients. Although sometimes they will work in non-critical situations, flight nurses must be ready to expect the unexpected.

Often, candidates require at least two years of experience in critical care situations before they qualify for this job. Because of the nature of the work, it is considered one of the most intense nursing career choices.

Military nurses care for individuals in the Armed Forces, both stateside and overseas. They may also provide care in the U.S. Public Health service. If you choose to enter this nursing field, you must first become a commissioned officer of the Armed Forces.

Because of the transient nature of this career, travel nurses are often compensated at a higher level of pay than traditional nurses, which makes this choice an attractive option to consider.

Legal Nurse Consultant

A legal nurse consultant may provide his or her expertise to insurance companies, government agencies, or attorneys. They most often work as consultants on legal cases, working hand-in-hand with attorneys to combine their medical expertise with the lawyer’s legal expertise in court matters.

A legal nurse consultant may provide education or training in medical issues to the litigation team. They may also work with chemical companies or pharmaceutical companies to provide education and consultation.
